Project outline:

The brief was to take the existing Skelmersdale & Ormskirk branding and create a full CMS the student services team can update. The site will have the facility to create online blogs for both students and staff, along with interactive galleries. This was an exciting prospect because as part of the design it needed to meet several requirements:
1. Design to appeal to staff and students
2. Fully DDA compliant
3. Fully W3C XHTML 1.0 and W3C CSS 2.1 compliant
4. Job posting and applications
5. CSS formatted pages to be printer friendly

Other features include, tag clouds, downloadable content and fully automated administration tools for mail outs and sign ups. The flash header on the front page is even updatable with no programming skills required. The site design allows content blocks to be 'turned on and off' to subtly change the design depending on requirements.
